Common Questions

Before you reach out

Here are the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, just send us a message — we love hearing from curious travellers.

Do I need a visa to visit Bhutan? +
Yes — all foreign nationals (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian citizens) require a Tourist Visa to enter Bhutan. We can guide you through the full application process. Visit our Visa page for details.
How far in advance should I book? +
We recommend booking at least 2–3 months in advance, especially for festival periods like Paro Tsechu (March–April) and the Dochula Festival (December), which fill quickly. That said, we always try to accommodate shorter-notice requests.
What is the best time to visit Bhutan? +
Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November) offer the best weather and coincide with major festivals. Winter (December–February) is magical for the Dochula Tsechu and Black-Necked Crane Festival, with fewer crowds. We can advise based on your interests.
Can you customise an itinerary for us? +
Absolutely — that's exactly what we do. Every White Pine journey is bespoke. Whether you want to combine a hike with a festival, visit remote eastern valleys, or include a specific monastery, we build the trip around you.
What is included in your packages? +
Our packages typically include your local guide, accommodation (from boutique lodges to farmhouses), most meals, transport within Bhutan, and all entry fees. International flights and travel insurance are not included. Full details are shared during your consultation.
How do I pay? +
We accept bank transfer and major international payment methods. A deposit secures your booking, with the balance due 30 days before departure. Full payment details are provided once your itinerary is confirmed.
